Responsibility

Responsible tourism is important. Among other things, we want to do this sustainably and responsibly in the following ways, respecting our customers, the environment and culture, in the clean and wonderful nature of Nuorgam.

Accommodation units

  • We recycle waste. Our accommodation units have waste bins for biowaste, mixed waste, glass, cardboard and metal.
  • Our cottages do not use disposable tableware. The wood fiber cutlery used in the igloo accommodation is washed and reused.
  • Empty bottles and cans can be left in our accommodation units, in which case we will recycle them on behalf of the customer.
  • We only change towels and sheets at the end of the stay and we also wash the slippers, so they can be used several times.
  • We use LED lights in all lamps where it is possible.
  • We pay attention to different ways to save energy in heating. Where possible, we use wood, air source heat pumps and solar energy to heat our accommodation units.
  • The toilets are equipped with two push buttons. Ecologically degradable cleaning wipes are used in the igloo accommodation, and the toilet waste generated there is disposed of together with the toilet bowl of the service building.
  • We use as much domestic, nature-friendly ecological and locally sourced materials and supplies as possible in our accommodations.
  • We thoroughly clean our accommodation between our guests, and our accommodation features handmade ideas and face masks are available. We instruct our customers to travel to Nuorgam only when they are healthy. We avoid unnecessary face-to-face encounters with customers to prevent the spread of Covid-19 (handing over keys and instructions remotely). However, if necessary, we are close to reach.

Nature and well-being of the area

  • We respect nature and water bodies. We do not litter.
  • We do not disturb reindeer or other wildlife when we move around in nature.
  • We respect the original Sámi population of the region and work with them.
  • We respect other local entrepreneurs and strive to make purchases as much as possible from them and through them
